Budget and usage management APIs now generally available
GitHub announced the general availability of its expanded billing APIs for budget and usage management. These APIs allow developers to programmatically manage the full lifecycle of budgets, track usage across their organization, and access cost center data. Previously in beta, the APIs now support production use cases, enabling automated budget creation, updates, and deletion, as well as real-time usage monitoring. This reduces the need for manual billing oversight and helps teams enforce spending limits and allocate costs more efficiently. The APIs integrate with existing GitHub tools and workflows, allowing organizations to build custom dashboards or automate alerts based on usage thresholds. This launch is part of GitHub's ongoing effort to provide more granular control over billing and resource management for enterprise customers.
Developers can now automate budget and usage tracking, reducing manual billing overhead and enabling cost control at scale.
