OpenAI announced that Codex, previously available only via desktop or web, is now integrated into the ChatGPT mobile app for iOS and Android. The feature enables users to write, test, and run code in multiple languages, including Python, JavaScript, and SQL, directly within the app. Codex can also generate code snippets, debug existing code, and explain programming concepts. The integration is available to all ChatGPT Plus subscribers at no additional cost, with a usage limit of 50 requests per day. Free tier users can access a limited version with 10 requests per day. This update positions ChatGPT as a more versatile tool for developers who need quick coding assistance on mobile devices, potentially reducing reliance on traditional IDEs for simple tasks.
