From Automated to Autonomous: Hierarchical Agent-native Network Architecture (HANA)
A new paper on arXiv (2605.20608) introduces the Hierarchical Agent-native Network Architecture (HANA) for achieving Level 4/5 Autonomous Networks. The architecture replaces rigid scripts with a multi-agent system featuring a Dual-Driven Orchestrator that coordinates specialized Executive Agents, supported by a shared Public Memory for unified domain knowledge. A key innovation is agent self-awareness, enabling the system to balance strategic planning with reflexive fault recovery. The architecture was instantiated and validated in a 5G Core environment. Case studies show it sustains critical throughput under congestion and reduces Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) by 86%, demonstrating its ability to unify strategic planning with operational resilience.
