Tonic is joining the gRPC project
Tonic, the leading Rust implementation of gRPC, is joining the official gRPC project under the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Announced by Lucio Franco, Tonic's creator, the transition aims to ensure long-term maintenance and community governance. Tonic will become the recommended Rust gRPC library, replacing the existing grpc-rust crate. This move aligns with gRPC's goal to support Rust as a first-class language.
