WinCE64 – Windows CE 2.11 for N64
WinCE64, hosted on GitHub by user ThroatyMumbo, is a port of Microsoft's Windows CE 2.11 operating system to the Nintendo 64. The project compiles the Windows CE kernel and shell into a ROM image that can be run on real N64 hardware or emulators. The current release includes a basic graphical user interface with a taskbar, start menu, and file manager, though many features are non-functional due to the limited hardware. The N64's 4 MB RAM and 93.75 MHz CPU pose significant constraints, but the port demonstrates the feasibility of running a full OS on the console. The source code and pre-built ROM are available on GitHub for developers to explore and modify. This project is purely experimental and not intended for commercial use.
Enables developers to run Windows CE on N64 for retro homebrew and OS experimentation.
