Cloudflare Python Workers are now generally available

Cloudflare's support for running Python in its server-side Workers platform is now generally available after a two-year preview, according to Simon Willison. Cloudflare describes Python as a first-class, fully supported language on its Developer Platform. Python runs compiled to WebAssembly via Pyodide inside Cloudflare's V8-based workerd runtime, which the source notes leaves multiprocessing and threading non-functional in the WebAssembly VM. The local tool pywrangler, packaged as workers-py on PyPI, simulates the stack locally.

Developers can now run Python on Cloudflare Workers as a stable, supported language, though threading and multiprocessing remain unavailable in the WebAssembly VM.

llm-typesafe 0.1a0

Simon Willison released llm-typesafe 0.1a0, an LLM plugin that adds support for TypeSafe AI's new Jev model. The plugin installs with "llm install llm-typesafe" and requires an API key set via "llm keys set typesafe". Willison demonstrates three question types: yes/no "noul" questions returning a probability, choice questions using the answer_type choice option with criteria, and scoring questions using answer_type score with criteria. He links to the README for details.
